YMCA programs are participants in the Keystone STARS accreditation program and are either STAR 3 or 4 rated.
YMCA character values – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility help kids discover who they are and what they can achieve. Structured activities include science, group projects, environmental awareness, arts and crafts, games, sports components, field trips, and more. Children also have time to tackle homework with the help of well-trained Y staff who know how to challenge and listen to them.
The Y is also a site-based mentoring location for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. If your child is enrolled in our School-Age Enrichment program, at your request, he or she can be matched with a pre-qualified Big Brother or Big Sister. Ask your Program Director for more information.
A healthy breakfast and snack is included in your daily rate as well as transportation to and from school.
Ages 12-18 years
At the Y’s Teen Center located at the Downtown Y, teens are offered a safe place to socialize and provided a wide selection of educational, recreational, community service and soft skills programming. Seventh graders in Erie County receive a free membership as part of the Y’s 7th Grade Initiative.
During school days off and holidays, the Y schedules all-day School Fun Days to accommodate children ages K-12 during days off from school. Activities include recreational games, swimming, arts & crafts, community service projects and more.
By choosing Y Summer Day Camp, you’re choosing more than a summer day care service. Y camps are high-quality, affordable and convenient all summer long. The Y’s wide menu of summer play and learning activities through camp give kids a chance to have fun while building a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Choose from traditional Day Camp, Kindergarten Readiness Camp or week-long Sports, Dance or Cheer Camps. Program held at the County Y. Get more information here.
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Like all Y programs, our Early Care and School Age Programs are open to all. The YMCA accepts Early Learning Resource Center (formerly CCIS) payments and financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
